Dr. Parthipan Kamaleswaran is excited to join the Grace Health Centre team as a family physician. He brings a thorough approach to healthcare, focusing on preventative health and lifestyle medicine. Dr. Par is dedicated to empowering his patients to achieve optimal well-being through personalized care and education.
After completing his medical training at the prestigious University of Sydney, Dr. Par gained valuable experience working as a hospital doctor in both public and private healthcare systems across Queensland and New South Wales. He then pursued his passion for community-based care by entering general practice in Queensland, where he trained rurally before obtaining his specialist designation as a GP fellow. Upon returning to Canada, Dr. Par qualified as a family physician.
Dr. Par's areas of expertise include:
Metabolic Health: Dr. Par has succeeded remarkably in improving and reversing conditions such as type 2 diabetes, fatty liver disease, and dyslipidemia (cholesterol issues). He helps his patients significantly reduce their cardiovascular risks by focusing on lifestyle interventions and evidence-based strategies.
Women's Health: Dr. Par has a particular interest in women's health and provides comprehensive care for women navigating menopause and managing polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS). He takes a holistic approach, considering each patient's unique needs and goals, ensuring they feel understood and supported.
Body Recomposition: Dr. Par strongly believes in the importance of body recomposition throughout the lifespan. He works closely with patients to develop personalized plans that promote fat loss while encouraging muscle growth and maintenance. By focusing on strength and reducing frailty, Dr. Par helps his patients achieve sustainable health improvements.
Health Span vs. Lifespan: As a family physician, Dr. Par emphasizes the importance of not only extending lifespan but also optimizing health span. Lifespan refers to the total number of years an individual lives, while health span is the period of life spent in good health, free from chronic diseases and disabilities. Dr. Par's goal is to help his patients maximize their health span, ensuring they can enjoy a high quality of life well into their golden years.
Patient Empowerment: Dr. Par recognizes that patients are the key drivers of their own health. He takes the time to educate his patients about the science behind his recommendations, empowering them to make informed decisions about their health. By providing his patients with the knowledge and tools they need to adopt and maintain healthy lifestyles, Dr. Par fosters a sense of self-efficacy and autonomy, which are essential for long-term success. He also shares his patient education notes, ensuring his patients access reliable, evidence-based information to support their health journey.
Continuity of Care: Dr. Par understands that achieving optimal health is a lifelong journey requiring ongoing support and guidance. He values the importance of continuity of care and regularly follows up with his patients to monitor their progress, address any challenges they may face, and celebrate their successes. By building strong, trusting relationships with his patients, Dr. Par creates a supportive environment that promotes long-term adherence to healthy lifestyle practices, ultimately leading to improved health span and overall well-being.
When he's not caring for his patients, Dr. Par enjoys immersing himself in fantasy literature, exercising, playing Magic The Gathering, and spending quality time with his family.
*Please note that Dr. Par prefers not to prescribe opiates, benzodiazepines, or hypnotic drugs, as he prioritizes safe and sustainable approaches to health management.
