Award for Excellence in Patient Care

This prestigious award is a unique honour given to recognize outstanding medical assistant volunteers who have demonstrated stellar qualities, a passion for health care, and strong leadership.

Award Eligibility and Criteria:

These Individuals:

1.          Are extraordinarily committed and determined to provide the highest quality of holistic, patient-centered care
2.          Strive for excellence, continuous improvement and show exceptional interpersonal, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills
3.          Consistently take initiative and go beyond the call of duty to identify and address needs
4.          Conduct themselves with unquestionable integrity, the highest ethical standards, and true professionalism
5.          Approach challenges with a positive attitude and persevere through adversity
6.          Enhance the synergy, resilience, passion, and wellness of the team such that the whole team achieves more than the sum of its parts
7.          Set the example for colleagues, and readily pass on values, knowledge, and skills
8.          Communicate with and show respect, compassion, and empathy to people of all ages, genders, orientations, cultures, and backgrounds
9.          Effectively assist physicians in conveying the importance of preventative care to patients for greater adoption of healthy behaviours
10.        Creatively utilize limited resources and technology in environmentally friendly and sustainable ways to drive lasting, positive change for patient care

Award winners must either be a volunteer who has devoted at least 1000 hours to the clinic OR an outstanding co-op student who has volunteered for at least 500 hours outside of work hours.
